Mission of the project
The mission of volunteers for extraordinary events is to create interdisciplinary teams across denominations. The team members are people with differing possibilities and capabilities of addressing the material, mental and spiritual needs of victims of catastrophes, mass and individual disasters and terrorisms.
Long-term goal:
To coordinate efficiently on the national, regional and local level so that there is a network of current as well as new volunteers available to provide specialized psychosocial services to people affected by an extraordinary event.
Project goals for 2008:
To develop and improve the network of psychosocial teams, we want to focus on the following five goals:
- To focus on training of volunteers for the local psychosocial teams.
- To maintain, support and regularly field the functioning volunteer teams for the extraordinary events.
- To perform educational work. To present various ways how volunteers can help with the help of the regional conference of the Zlín Region and to support building of local networks of helpers.
- To contribute to elaboration of standard in psychosocial intervention help for extraordinary events.
- To work with the youth. To organize youth camps focusing on handling of extraordinary situations.
